PBOC Sets USD/CNY Reference Rate at 6.8166 vs 6.8209 Previous

The People's Bank of China set the USD/CNY central parity rate at 6.8166 on Friday, slightly stronger than the previous fix of 6.8209, but weaker than the Reuters estimate of 6.8015.

USDCNY

The People's Bank of China (PBOC) fixed the USD/CNY reference rate at 6.8166 for Friday's trading session, compared to the previous day's fix of 6.8209. The new central parity is slightly stronger for the yuan against the US dollar.

The fix came in weaker than the Reuters market estimate of 6.8015, indicating a cautious approach by the PBOC. The central rate serves as a daily trading band reference for the onshore yuan.
