Iran Warns Israeli Presence in Lebanon Would Void US-Iran Peace Deal

Iran warned that continued Israeli military presence in southern Lebanon would nullify the US-Iran peace agreement, as Israel's defense minister confirmed no withdrawal from the area.

Iran has issued a warning via the semi-official ISNA news agency, stating that any prolonged Israeli military deployment in southern Lebanon would invalidate the existing US-Iran peace deal. The statement escalates tensions in the region.

Shortly before the warning, Israel's Minister of Defense declared that Israel would not withdraw its forces from southern Lebanon. The conflicting positions raise the risk of a diplomatic breakdown and potential renewed hostilities.

The comments come amid ongoing negotiations and fragile ceasefires in the region, with the US-Iran deal seen as a key pillar of stability. Markets may react to increased geopolitical risk, particularly in energy and safe-haven assets.
