Iran Denies Seeking Resumption of Direct Talks with US

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson said Tehran has not asked for the resumption of direct talks with the United States, even as Gulf countries continue mediation efforts.

Esmail Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, stated on Monday during the European session that Iran has not requested a restart of direct negotiations with the US. He emphasized that while mediation by Gulf nations remains active, Tehran is not engaging in direct talks with Washington.

Baghaei’s remarks come amid ongoing diplomatic maneuvering in the region. The statement suggests that despite third-party efforts, a breakthrough in US-Iran relations is not imminent.

No further details were provided on the nature or timeline of the mediation.
