EU MiCA Transition Period for Crypto Platforms Ends July 1, 2026

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) reminded that the MiCA transition period for crypto-asset service providers expires on July 1, 2026. Companies without a license must cease servicing EU clients.

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has reminded crypto platforms that the transitional period under the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation ends on July 1, 2026.

After that date, any crypto-asset service provider that has not obtained a license under MiCA must stop offering services to clients within the European Union.

The reminder highlights the regulatory deadline facing firms operating in the bloc, as well as the actions both companies and regulators are taking in response to the approaching cutoff.
