Commerzbank: Fed to Hold Rates, May Weigh Hikes on Sticky Inflation

Commerzbank economist Bernd Weidensteiner expects the Federal Reserve to keep its policy rate at 3.50%–3.75% at the next meeting, while noting that the central bank could debate further hikes if inflation does not moderate.

According to Commerzbank analyst Bernd Weidensteiner, the Federal Reserve is likely to leave its policy rate unchanged in the 3.50%–3.75% range at the upcoming meeting.

The economist added that the central bank may engage in discussions about potential rate increases if inflation risks fail to subside. The assessment reflects ongoing uncertainty over the inflation outlook and the Fed's next policy steps.
