Weekend Markets Mostly Up, Oil Slips Nearly 3%

Major equity indexes in the U.S., Europe, and Asia posted modest gains over the weekend, while crude oil dropped 2.73%.

The weekend trading session saw most major indices close in positive territory. The SPACEX index added 0.83%, while the DAX rose 0.32%. In the U.S., the Dow Jones Industrial Average edged up 0.31% and the Nasdaq gained 0.18%. The FTSE 100 climbed 0.27% and the Hang Seng was up 0.30%.

Commodities were mixed. Gold edged 0.35% higher, and silver rose 0.45%. In currencies, the euro was nearly flat against the dollar, gaining just 0.01%.

The notable exception was crude oil, which declined 2.73% to close at 8094.
