Zuckerberg Says Meta's AI Progress Slower Than Expected, Reorganization Not Clean

Mark Zuckerberg admitted that Meta's AI development has been slower than anticipated, and the company's 2026 reorganization has not gone as smoothly as hoped.

Mark Zuckerberg commented on Meta's recent performance, stating that AI progress has been slower than expected. He noted that AI agent development has not accelerated as anticipated over the past four months.

Regarding internal changes, Zuckerberg said Meta's 2026 reorganization "wasn't as clean as it could have been." Early in 2026, top executives were concerned that the company was not moving fast enough on AI. He also acknowledged that the reorganization bets have not yet delivered the expected results.

Despite these setbacks, Zuckerberg expressed confidence that long-term trends still support Meta's broader reorganization strategy.
