NZD/USD Falls on Weak NZIER Outlook and Commodity Price Drop

The New Zealand Dollar declined against the US Dollar on Monday, with NZD/USD trading around 0.5690. The move follows a 1.0% drop in the ANZ World Commodity Price Index for June amid easing Middle East tensions and lower oil prices.

NZDUSD

The New Zealand Dollar weakened during Asian trading on Monday, pushing NZD/USD down to approximately 0.5690 after two days of gains.

Pressure on the kiwi came after the ANZ World Commodity Price Index fell 1.0% in June. The decline was attributed to easing Middle East tensions and lower oil prices, which reduced demand for commodity-linked currencies like the NZD.

The currency also faced headwinds from a split in the NZIER (New Zealand Institute of Economic Research) survey regarding the July policy decision, though details of the split were not specified in the post.
