Kuwaiti FPS-117 Radar Integrated into US Coalition Air Defense

The FPS-117 long-range 3D air-surveillance radar, operated by Kuwait, is embedded in US and coalition air-defense networks, with operations centered at Ahmed al-Jaber air base.

The FPS-117, a Lockheed Martin long-range 3D air-surveillance radar capable of detecting targets up to approximately 470 km, is operated by Kuwait but integrated into U.S. and coalition air-defense networks.

Ahmed al-Jaber air base, a major Kuwaiti installation, has long hosted U.S. and coalition aircraft, underscoring the strategic military cooperation in the region.

This integration reflects ongoing joint defense arrangements in the Gulf, with Kuwait serving as a key node in coalition air surveillance and response capabilities.
