Iran Speaker: Strait of Hormuz Will Not Return to Pre-War Conditions

Iran's Speaker of Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, declared on Monday that the Strait of Hormuz will not return to pre-war conditions. His remarks signal a prolonged period of heightened geopolitical risk in the region.
"In a region where we do not sell oil, no one will sell oil. If our security is not ensured, no infrastructure will be safe," Ghalibaf said, as reported by The Kobeissi Letter.
The statement underscores the ongoing tensions in the Persian Gulf and raises concerns over global oil supply routes. The Strait of Hormuz is a critical chokepoint through which about 20% of the world's oil passes.
