Euro Retraces Gains as Data Fuels ECB Pause Expectations

The Euro gave up most of its daily gains against the US Dollar on Friday, falling back to 1.1430 from a session high of 1.1475, leaving the pair flat on the day amid Eurozone data pointing to an ECB pause.

EURUSD

The Euro (EUR) surrendered most of its intraday advance against the US Dollar (USD) on Friday, retreating from a session high of 1.1475 to the 1.1430 area. The move left the pair virtually unchanged for the day.

The pullback followed the release of Eurozone economic data that reinforced expectations for a pause in the European Central Bank's policy tightening cycle. Markets now see a reduced likelihood of further rate hikes from the ECB, weighing on the common currency.

EUR/USD currently trades near 1.1430, with limited direction as traders digest the implications of the data.
