GBP/USD Rebounds Above 1.3300 Ahead of UK Retail Sales

The British pound recovered to near 1.3325 during Asian trading on Friday, ending a five-day losing streak. However, gains may be capped by rising Middle East tensions.

GBPUSD

The GBP/USD pair snapped a five-day losing streak on Friday, recovering to around 1.3325 during Asian trading hours. The move came ahead of the release of UK Retail Sales data, which could provide further direction for the pound.

Despite the bounce, upside potential may be limited as heightened military tensions in the Middle East weigh on risk appetite. Traders remain cautious ahead of the data print, with further gains dependent on a stronger-than-expected retail sales figure.

Technically, the pair needs to hold above 1.3300 to sustain the recovery, while a break below could open the door for further losses.
