Oil and Bond Yields Drop on Iran De-escalation as Asia Markets Mixed

Oil prices and short-dated bond yields declined as Iran signaled de-escalation, while Asian equities traded mixed ahead of central bank meetings and tech earnings.

Oil prices and short-dated bond yields fell sharply after reports of Iran de-escalation eased geopolitical supply concerns. The pullback weighed on commodities-linked currencies and injected a cautious tone into regional trade.

The market showed little enthusiasm for further announcements of circular AI financing, with traders viewing new rounds as lacking fresh momentum. In China, the CMXT CN IPO saw explosive demand, while Japan announced a cabinet reshuffle.

Attention now turns to a busy week of policy decisions from the FOMC, BOE, and BOJ, together with earnings from Microsoft, Meta, and Apple.
