Gold Extends Slide Below $4,050 on Inflation Fears and Tariff Concerns

Gold (XAU/USD) declines for a second consecutive day as rising inflation expectations boost Federal Reserve rate hike bets and strengthen the US dollar, further pressured by renewed trade war fears from Trump's tariffs.

XAUUSD

Gold (XAU/USD) extended its decline for a second straight session on Friday, slipping further below the $4,050 level during Asian trading.

The sell-off is driven by:

  • Inflation fears: Heightened inflation expectations are reinforcing bets that the Federal Reserve will continue raising interest rates.
  • Stronger US dollar: The USD has gained as a result, pressuring gold prices.
  • Trade war anxiety: Renewed concerns over Trump's tariffs are adding to risk-off sentiment, which paradoxically is not supporting gold as a safe haven at this stage.

Gold remains under pressure as these macroeconomic headwinds dominate market sentiment.
