The global stock market cap has surged to a record $166 trillion, representing a $32 trillion increase year-over-year, or 23.6% — well above the long-term average.
Since the pandemic low in 2020, global equities have added $94 trillion, a gain of 131%. Over the past 20 years, the compound annual growth rate stands at 7.0%. As a share of global GDP, equity market cap now sits at a record ~134%.
Analysts characterize the current rally as one of the most powerful in history, with valuations expanding rapidly across major indices.
