DXY Pulls Back from Monthly Highs to 101.30 Ahead of Fed

The US Dollar Index gave up its recent gains, retreating to the 101.30 area from its highest level in a month as traders awaited the Federal Reserve's next steps.

The greenback, measured by the DXY, reversed course from the vicinity of its monthly peak and slid back toward 101.30 on Tuesday. The move came as markets adjusted positions in anticipation of the Federal Reserve's upcoming policy signals.

The index had earlier climbed to its strongest level in weeks before the retreat took hold. Investors now look to the Fed for cues on rate expectations and the economic outlook.
