Brent Crude Above $100 as Geopolitical Risks Mount

ING analysts note that Brent crude has broken above $100 per barrel amid escalating Middle East tensions, threats to the Strait of Hormuz and Red Sea shipping, and supply disruptions from Kazakhstan.

Brent crude oil has breached the $100 per barrel threshold, according to ING analysts Warren Patterson and Ewa Manthey. The move is driven by escalating Middle East tensions and mounting supply risks.

Key factors cited include threats to shipping through the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea, as well as ongoing disruptions to Kazakh oil supply. The analysts conclude that conflict risks continue to keep prices supported.
