Weekend Markets: Equities Mostly Flat, Oil Drops 3%
Global stock indices inched higher in weekend trading, while US crude oil slid nearly 3% and precious metals posted small gains.

Global equity indices showed marginal gains during the weekend session. Germany’s DAX added 0.15% to 25,102, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.05% to 51,926, and the Nasdaq Composite ticked 0.29% higher to 28,226. The FTSE 100 and Hang Seng Index each edged up 0.03%, closing at 10,721 and 24,990, respectively.
In commodities, precious metals were modestly higher: gold gained 0.14% to 4,059, and silver advanced 0.34% to 5,837. US crude oil, however, was a notable underperformer, slumping 2.98% to 8,705.
The euro was nearly unchanged against the dollar, trading at 1.1372, up just 0.01%.
