USD Mixed as Iran Tensions Stir Risk-Off; Scotiabank Highlights Fed Repricing

The US Dollar trades mixed with renewed Iran tensions dampening risk appetite, sending stocks lower and oil (Brent) higher, while Scotiabank strategists note ongoing repricing of Fed expectations after a hawkish pivot.

The US Dollar (USD) is seeing mixed trading as geopolitical risks resurface. Scotiabank strategists Shaun Osborne and Eric Theoret report that renewed tensions involving Iran have hit risk appetite, driving stock markets lower and pushing Brent crude oil prices higher.

The move comes as markets continue to reprice expectations for the Federal Reserve after a recent hawkish pivot. The strategists note that the dollar's direction remains uncertain amid these crosscurrents, with safe-haven flows partially offset by a more restrictive Fed outlook.
