UK Prime Minister Starmer announced defence spending will rise to £80 billion annually by 2029, increasing to 2.7% of GDP with a trajectory to 3% in the next parliament. Non-military spending will be cut to fund the increase.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has announced a significant increase in defence spending, committing to £80 billion per year by 2029. The new target raises defence expenditure to 2.7% of GDP, with a path to reach 3% in the next parliament.
