Turkey, US Committed to Lifting CAATSA Sanctions: FM Fidan

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said both President Erdogan and former President Trump are strongly committed to lifting CAATSA sanctions. The leaders publicly expressed their positions last September and instructed ministers to resolve the matter.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that both President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and former U.S. President Donald Trump are strongly committed to lifting the CAATSA (Countering America's Adversaries Through Sanctions Act) sanctions imposed on Turkey.

According to Fidan, the two leaders publicly expressed their positions last September and instructed their respective ministers to work toward a resolution. The statement signals a potential thaw in U.S.-Turkey relations tied to Turkey's purchase of Russian S-400 missile systems.
