ING: Le Pen Ruling Has Limited Impact on Euro

ING strategist Francesco Pesole views the Marine Le Pen eligibility ruling as a low-impact event for markets, noting that investors have already priced in a National Rally victory in upcoming French elections.

EURUSD

Francesco Pesole at ING argues that the recent court ruling on Marine Le Pen's eligibility is unlikely to move FX markets significantly. According to Pesole, the decision carries more weight for French domestic politics than for currency or bond markets, as traders have largely discounted a National Rally (RN) win under Le Pen or Jordan Bardella.

Pesole points out that fiscal concerns tied to an RN victory are already factored into euro pricing. The ruling therefore does not introduce new information that would materially alter EUR/USD positioning. ING maintains a neutral near-term view on the single currency pending clearer political developments.
