Indian Rupee Resumes Decline as Oil Prices Rise

The Indian Rupee opened lower against the US Dollar on Wednesday, with USD/INR rising to near 96.45, as a fresh surge in oil prices heightened fears of energy supply disruptions.

The Indian Rupee (INR) resumed its decline against the US Dollar (USD) on Wednesday, reversing the slight relief seen the previous day. The USD/INR pair rose to near 96.45 as oil prices surged again, driven by intensifying fears of further disruptions to global energy supplies.

The rise in crude oil prices is a negative factor for the Rupee, given India's heavy dependence on oil imports. The renewed weakening follows a brief pause, suggesting persistent pressure on the currency from external headwinds.
