British Pound Recovery Eyes 1.36 Against US Dollar – Scotiabank

Scotiabank strategists note the British Pound is slightly softer but supported by a sharp repricing of Bank of England expectations. They suggest the GBP recovery is targeting 1.36 against the US Dollar.

GBPUSD

Scotiabank strategists Shaun Osborne and Eric Theoret observe that the British Pound is trading marginally softer but remains underpinned by a significant repricing of Bank of England (BoE) policy expectations.

They point out that the GBP recovery is now eyeing the 1.36 level against the US Dollar, supported by shifting market views on UK interest rates.

The note highlights that the current price action reflects these expectations, with further upside potential if the BoE outlook continues to adjust.
