Volaris (VLRS) Posts Q2 Loss of $1.11 Per Share, Tops Revenue Estimates

Controladora Vuela (Volaris) reported a Q2 loss of $1.11 per share, wider than the $0.54 loss a year ago, but revenue beat analyst estimates.

VLRS

Controladora Vuela (VLRS), the holding company for Mexican low-cost carrier Volaris, reported a second-quarter loss of $1.11 per share. This compares to the Zacks Consensus Estimate of a loss of $1.08 and a loss of $0.54 per share in the same quarter last year.

The company's revenue for the quarter topped analyst expectations, although specific revenue figures were not detailed in the earnings release. The results are adjusted for non-recurring items.

Volaris continues to face operational and competitive challenges in the Latin American aviation market, which have weighed on profitability despite revenue growth.
