European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde has dismissed speculation about a potential candidacy in the French presidential election, stating she will not run. The clarification comes amid growing rumors in political circles.

Lagarde also signaled willingness to debate Spain's push for joint borrowing among eurozone members, a proposal that could reshape fiscal coordination within the bloc. She stopped short of endorsing the plan but left the door open for further discussion.

On the digital euro, Lagarde reiterated that the central bank digital currency is designed to complement, not replace, physical cash. Negotiations on the project are advancing, but no timeline for implementation was provided.
