Indian Rupee Extends Recovery as Easing Oil Prices and Fed Meeting Lend Support

The Indian Rupee strengthened against the US Dollar, helped by a drop in oil prices as US-Iran tensions de-escalated and as the Federal Reserve's policy meeting got underway.

The Indian Rupee (INR) advanced further against the US Dollar on the back of easing crude oil prices. The decline came after a pause in military hostilities between the United States and Iran, which reduced supply risk premiums.

Lower oil prices are a direct positive for India, a major crude importer, as they shrink the current account deficit and dampen imported inflation pressures. The rupee's recovery coincides with the start of the Federal Reserve's latest monetary policy meeting, where any dovish signals could further weaken the dollar.
