Germany's Flash Manufacturing PMJumps to 52.2, Beating Estimates

Germany's flash manufacturing PMI rose unexpectedly to 52.2 in July, surpassing the 50.1 forecast. The composite PMI also returned to expansion territory at 51.2.

EURUSD

According to preliminary data, Germany's flash HCOB Manufacturing PMI came in at 52.2 for July, well above the 50.1 consensus estimate. This marks a strong recovery from the contraction seen in June.

The HCOB Composite PMI, which tracks both manufacturing and services, rose to 51.2 from the previous reading of 49.8 (revised from 49.5). A reading above 50 indicates expansion in overall business activity.

These figures suggest that the German economy may be gaining momentum early in the third quarter, despite ongoing headwinds in the manufacturing sector globally.
