A US missile strike struck part of an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) naval base in Zibakenar, on Iran's Caspian Sea coast, early Friday morning, a local official confirmed.

Ali Bagheri, deputy governor of Gilan province for political and security affairs, told state news agency ISNA that the attack occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m. local time. "Part of the equipment stationed at the facility was damaged in the missile attack," Bagheri said, noting that preliminary assessments indicate no human casualties so far.

The incident adds to heightened tensions in the region, though no further details on the scope of the damage or the specific equipment affected have been released.
