U.S. Adds 57,000 Jobs in June, Misses Expectations; Unemployment Falls to 4.2%

The U.S. economy added only 57,000 jobs in June, well below the forecast of 114,000. The unemployment rate declined to 4.2%, beating the 4.3% estimate, while May's figure was revised down by 43,000 jobs.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that nonfarm payrolls increased by 57,000 in June, significantly missing the consensus estimate of 114,000.

The unemployment rate dropped to 4.2%, versus the expected 4.3%. Additionally, the prior month's job gains were revised lower by 43,000, indicating a weakening trend in the labor market.

The mixed data suggests ongoing volatility in employment conditions, leaving the economic outlook uncertain.
