Trump: US Will Use Iranian Funds to Pay for Ship, Cargo Damages

Former President Trump stated that until further notice, all damages to ships, cargo, or related items will be covered by Iranian money held under US control, calling it fair and equitable despite potentially substantial costs.

In a social-media statement, former US President Donald Trump declared that any and all damages inflicted on shipping vessels, cargo, or related property will be paid for from Iranian funds currently held by the United States. He added that while the damages could be very substantial, using Iranian money for this purpose is the fair and equitable thing to do.

The remark, flagged by channel @FirstSquaw, underscores ongoing geopolitical tensions involving Iran and maritime security. Trump did not specify a trigger for the policy or provide details on the mechanism for compensating losses. The statement comes amid broader concerns about shipping disruptions in key waterways such as the Strait of Hormuz.
