Silver Price Falls to Near $55.50 on Rate Concerns

Silver (XAG/USD) slid for a third consecutive day, trading around $55.50 per troy ounce during Asian hours Thursday, on track for a weekly drop of over 7% as rising interest rate fears and Middle East tensions weighed on the metal.

Silver extended its decline for a third straight session, with XAG/USD hovering near $55.50 per troy ounce in Asian trading on Thursday. The precious metal is on course to lose more than 7% this week.

Pressure on silver comes from escalating interest rate concerns, which boost the dollar and reduce the appeal of non-yielding assets. Meanwhile, rising Middle East tensions have driven oil prices higher, adding to market uncertainty.

Traders are now watching for further cues from central bank policy signals and geopolitical developments.
