NATO's Rutte: Open Discussions Strengthen Alliance, Urges Putin to Try Same

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said open dialogue makes the alliance stronger and advised Vladimir Putin to adopt the same approach in Russia. He noted allies reunited at the Ankara summit after a period of discord and said there is no need to recalibrate style with Donald Trump.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte emphasized the value of open discussions during a recent statement, asserting that such transparency strengthens the alliance. He directly advised Russian President Vladimir Putin to try implementing open dialogue within Russia.

Rutte also highlighted that NATO allies reunited at the Ankara summit after a period of discord, and he sees no need to recalibrate the alliance's approach when dealing with Donald Trump. He stressed that ramping up defence industrial output remains crucial, with much work still ahead.
