AUD/USD Surges Above 0.6990 on Weak US Inflation

AUD/USD rallied sharply to near 0.6990, approaching the 0.7000 psychological level, after softer-than-expected US inflation data weighed on the US dollar.

AUDUSD

The Australian dollar strengthened significantly against the US dollar on Tuesday, with the AUD/USD pair trading sharply higher near 0.6990. The move brings the pair within striking distance of the key 0.7000 psychological barrier.

The rally was fueled by weaker-than-expected US inflation figures, which put downward pressure on the greenback. The US dollar index fell broadly as market participants interpreted the data as reducing the likelihood of aggressive Federal Reserve tightening.

Technical traders are now watching the 0.7000 level as a potential resistance zone. A decisive break above could open the door to further gains, while a rejection may lead to consolidation near current levels.
