The US dollar edged lower on Tuesday as traders reduced exposure ahead of Wednesday’s Federal Reserve policy decision. The greenback’s modest decline came alongside a cautious mood in currency markets, with major pairs drifting in tight ranges.

Meanwhile, oil prices continued to fall, adding to the prior session’s drop. Gold also extended its losing streak, slipping further as the precious metal faced pressure from a steadying dollar and higher Treasury yields. The moves underscored a defensive posture among investors bracing for the Fed’s guidance on interest rates.
