Japan Weekly Order Flows Turn Negative Across the Board
Japanese investors sold ¥714.4 billion of foreign bonds and ¥121.3 billion of foreign stocks, while foreign investors sold ¥185.1 billion of Japanese bonds and ¥76.6 billion of Japanese stocks for the week ended July 17.
Japan's weekly portfolio flows data released by the Ministry of Finance showed a broad selloff across asset classes for the week ended July 17.
Japanese investors:
- Foreign bonds: sold ¥714.4 billion after buying ¥1,090.1 billion the prior week.
- Foreign stocks: sold ¥121.3 billion after buying ¥196.2 billion.
Foreign investors:
- Japanese bonds: sold ¥185.1 billion after buying ¥499.8 billion.
- Japanese stocks: sold ¥76.6 billion after buying ¥745.6 billion.
The across-the-board negative flows suggest a reversal of risk appetite.
