Bitcoin Reclaims $65K as US-Iran Strikes Pause; Hack Losses Mount

Bitcoin returned above the $65,000 mark, recovering ground as the US and Iran paused direct military strikes. The cryptocurrency had seen pressure earlier from geopolitical jitters.

In security developments, decentralized finance protocol Triple-A suffered a hack that pushed losses to $11.8 million. Meanwhile, Thailand’s Securities and Exchange Commission filed a complaint against crypto exchange Bitkub concerning a 2021 breach, underscoring regulators’ ongoing scrutiny of exchange operations.

Industry watchers also noted a growing trend of crypto treasury firms pivoting to artificial intelligence. Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong criticized the shift, suggesting it pulls focus away from core blockchain development. A separate analyst described Bitcoin as a ‘canary in the coal mine’ for future quantum computing threats.
