AUD/USD Rebounds on Asian Open, Gains Capped by Tariff and Iran Tensions

The Australian dollar recovered some ground against the US dollar during Friday's Asian session after sliding earlier in the week, but upside remains limited by ongoing tariff threats from former President Trump and US-Iran geopolitical tensions.

AUDUSD

The AUD/USD pair attracted buyers in early Asian trading on Friday, recovering part of the decline seen in the previous session. The rebound follows a weekly slide that brought the pair back to key support levels.

However, gains remain capped as market participants weigh renewed tariff rhetoric from former US President Donald Trump, which could weigh on trade-sensitive currencies like the Australian dollar. Additionally, elevated US-Iran geopolitical tensions continue to support safe-haven demand for the US dollar, limiting the Aussie's upside.

The pair's direction is likely to remain tied to broader risk sentiment and any further headlines on trade or geopolitics.
