AUD/USD Falls Below 0.6950 as US-Iran Tensions Escalate

The Australian Dollar weakened against the US Dollar in early Asian trading on Monday, dipping below 0.6940 as renewed Middle East tensions dampened risk appetite.

AUDUSD

The AUD/USD pair declined to near 0.6940 during the early Asian session on Monday, extending losses below the 0.6950 level. The sell-off was driven by a fresh round of strikes between the US and Iran, which heightened geopolitical risk and weighed on risk-sensitive currencies like the Australian Dollar.

Heightened geopolitical tensions typically trigger a flight to safe-haven assets, supporting the US Dollar and pressuring commodity-linked currencies. Traders are now monitoring further developments in the Middle East for directional cues on AUD/USD.
