US Treasury Sanctions Hong Kong Shipping Firm Tied to Iran

The U.S. Treasury has sanctioned Hong Kong-based Sai Wan Shipping Limited along with other entities and vessels linked to Iran, while also authorizing certain transactions for wind-down purposes.

The U.S. Department of the Treasury announced sanctions against Hong Kong-based Sai Wan Shipping Limited, as well as additional individuals, entities, and vessels connected to Iran. The measures target networks involved in Iranian shipping and trade.

At the same time, the Treasury issued a general license permitting certain Iran-related transactions to facilitate the wind-down of activities involving the sanctioned parties. This allows for a limited period to conclude operations without further penalties.

The action underscores ongoing U.S. efforts to disrupt Iranian revenue streams and enforce existing sanctions, while providing a controlled mechanism for compliance.
