U.S. Forces Intercept Iranian Drones Over Strait of Hormuz Shipping

U.S. forces intercepted several Iranian drones launched by the IRGC toward commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, with reports of a third ship being targeted.

According to reports from Al Hadath citing an unnamed U.S. official, American forces intercepted multiple Iranian drones after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) allegedly launched them toward commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. The report also claims the IRGC targeted a third commercial vessel, marking an escalation in attacks on maritime traffic in the strategic waterway.

The Strait of Hormuz is a critical chokepoint for global oil shipments. Any disruption or increased military activity raises risks for energy supply chains and could amplify geopolitical tensions in the region.
