RBNZ Hikes Rate by 25 bps to 2.50% as Expected

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand raised its official cash rate by 25 basis points to 2.50% at its June meeting, in line with market expectations.

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) increased the Official Cash Rate (OCR) by 25 basis points to 2.50% from 2.25% following the conclusion of its June monetary policy meeting. The move was widely anticipated by the market.

This marks the latest step in the central bank's tightening cycle as it seeks to curb inflationary pressures. The decision was announced on Wednesday.
