RBA to Hold Cash Rate at 4.35% on June 16 – Reuters Poll

A Reuters poll shows that 42 of 45 economists expect the Reserve Bank of Australia to keep its official cash rate unchanged at 4.35% at its June 16 meeting, pausing after three consecutive hikes.

According to a Reuters poll released on Friday, a vast majority of economists surveyed predict the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) will hold the official cash rate steady at 4.35% on June 16. Specifically, 42 out of 45 economists expect a pause, marking an end to the recent tightening cycle that saw three consecutive rate increases.

The decision to hold comes amid growing signs that the Australian economy is slowing, with inflation showing signs of easing. The RBA has been balancing the need to curb price pressures against the risk of dampening economic growth. Market participants will closely watch the accompanying statement for any forward guidance on future policy moves.
