PBOC Sets USD/CNY Fix at 6.8096 vs. 6.8108 Previous

The People's Bank of China set the USD/CNY central parity rate at 6.8096 for Wednesday, slightly lower than Tuesday's fix of 6.8108 and below a Reuters estimate of 6.7659.

USDCNY

The People's Bank of China (PBOC) set the USD/CNY reference rate at 6.8096 for Wednesday's trading session, compared with the previous day's fixing of 6.8108. The new rate is also notably weaker than the Reuters estimate of 6.7659.

The central parity rate serves as a daily guide for the yuan's trading band, allowing the currency to move up to 2% in either direction from the fix. The marginal downward adjustment reflects continued PBOC management of the yuan amid global dollar dynamics.
