PBOC Sets USD/CNY Fix at 6.8066, Slightly Weaker Yuan

The People's Bank of China set the USD/CNY central parity at 6.8066 for Monday, weaker than Friday's fix of 6.8047, indicating a slight depreciation of the yuan.

The People's Bank of China (PBOC) set the USD/CNY reference rate at 6.8066 for the Monday trading session, compared to Friday's fix of 6.8047. The new fix is also weaker than a Reuters estimate of 6.7850. This marks a marginal weakening of the yuan against the US dollar as the PBOC adjusts the daily midpoint within its managed float band.
