PBOC Sets Lower USD/CNY Fix at 6.7899

China's central bank set the onshore yuan reference rate at 6.7899 per dollar, stronger than the prior 6.7928 fix.

USDCNY

The People’s Bank of China fixed the USD/CNY central rate at 6.7899 on Wednesday, down from the previous session’s 6.7928. The daily fixing guides onshore spot trading and is often viewed as a signal of the central bank’s yuan policy stance. The modestly stronger fixing implies the PBOC is allowing the yuan to appreciate slightly against the dollar.
