Moody's: Iran Conflict Costs US Families $100 Billion

Moody's estimates the US-Iran conflict has cost American households $100 billion through higher government spending and energy expenses, with ripple effects on inflation and economic strain.

According to Moody's, the ongoing conflict with Iran has placed an estimated $100 billion financial burden on U.S. families. The cost stems from a combination of increased government spending and rising energy prices.

A significant portion comes from additional U.S. military funding, including operations, deployments, defense support, and related security measures. The war has also contributed to higher global oil prices, raising gasoline, transportation, and energy costs that directly affect consumers and businesses.

Beyond defense and fuel, the conflict has created broader economic pressures, including higher inflation risks, increased household expenses, and greater strain on the U.S. economy.
