LME and Shanghai Futures Exchange to Launch LME-Listed Flat Steel Futures

The London Metal Exchange (LME) has signed an agreement with the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) to launch an LME-listed futures contract offering exposure to the SHFE flat steel market for participants outside China.

The London Metal Exchange (LME) announced today that it has signed an agreement with the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE). The partnership will introduce an LME-listed futures contract designed to give market participants outside China exposure to the SHFE flat steel market.

This initiative aims to broaden access to Chinese steel derivatives for international traders and investors. The contract will be listed on the LME, leveraging its global distribution network.

Further details on the launch date and contract specifications have not yet been disclosed.
