EU Launches Antitrust Probe Into Sanofi Over Flu Vaccine Claims

The European Union has initiated a formal antitrust investigation into Sanofi for allegedly making misleading claims about its flu vaccine relative to CSL Seqirus' Fluad.

SAN

The European Union has opened a formal antitrust investigation into French pharmaceutical giant Sanofi. The probe focuses on allegations that Sanofi promoted its flu vaccine Efluelda by making misleading claims against CSL Seqirus' Fluad vaccine, portraying it as inferior.

The European Commission will examine whether these practices violate EU competition rules. The investigation will assess if Sanofi's marketing strategy aimed at discrediting a competitor's product constitutes an abuse of dominant position or other antitrust violations.

This is a developing story. Sanofi has not yet commented on the investigation.
