CENTCOM: Strait of Hormuz Open for Transit, US Forces Postured Against Iran

The US Central Command has declared the Strait of Hormuz open for transit, with safe pathways for non-blockaded vessels, hundreds of ships having passed in two months, and US forces ready to defend against Iranian aggression. Iran does not control the strait, CENTCOM stated.

US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that the Strait of Hormuz remains open for maritime transit. Safe pathways have been established for all vessels not subject to blockade. According to the statement, hundreds of ships have successfully transited the strait in the past two months.

US naval forces are positioned to counter any Iranian aggression in the waterway. The command explicitly stated that Iran does not control the Strait of Hormuz, underscoring the US commitment to freedom of navigation in the strategic chokepoint.

This declaration comes amid ongoing tensions in the region, though no specific incident was cited.
